this was the one thing everyone told me i had to do in portland (sightseeing). i was told that i could drive to multnomah falls (30-40 minute drive from our place) and take pictures of the waterfall from our car.

we did not anticipate that we would want to hike up the waterfall so came in regular clothes! yep, i was the girl who hiked a mile up and a mile down in beige flats, a cardigan and a gold chain necklace. i pretty much gave those who were hiking up (me coming down) a false sense of hope that the hike was easy with my attire. a word of caution… it’s steep. expect to break a sweat.

also, we saw a number of families struggling with strollers. this is not really stroller friendly.

the top of the waterfall provides an awesome view of the columbia river gorge… it was worth it in my opinion.
